Jackson's wood shop project

Jackson made this chair in wood shop! He did such a nice job. They have been working on it the whole semester. He even caught up on it, after being gone for 3 weeks with his ankle.

White Elephant Exchange

The adult cousins always exchange white elephant gifts! We put in our McCain/Palin sign, and our favorite democrat, my cousin Charlie got it! It was pretty funny, and he thought so too!

Fox Family Christmas Party at our House

This was our family party that was held at our house! It is always a lot of fun! The little kids are at fun ages, and have fun playing together! It looks really crazy!

Ty's first Super League Basketball Game

This is Tyson's first Super League Basketball game. Their team is called "The Beef" because a lot of their players were beefy football players. Their game was really good, they were pretty much tied up the whole game. Tyson's team won 26-20! It was great!

The Holidays

Wow the Holidays have already snuck up on me! This year we had Thanksgiving at our house. Last year was our first year in our house and for Thanksgiving we were in LasVegas for Jackson's football team's Vegas Tournament. So this was our first year for Thanksgiving here. We had a late dinner, which I really liked for a change. Everyone came here and it was really nice. I had a kids table for Max, Jane, Jackson and Tyson. They thought it was really cool. Then after everybody just hung out. The only thing bad about it was that I had a cold and didn't feel great. But, oh well I got over it.
Now I am just trying to decorate for Christmas. It is a lot of work but I really enjoy decorating! I don't like bringing all the boxes up from downstairs. Well, I better get back to decorating!

BREAKING NEWS

Jackson made it UPSTAIRS to his ROOM!!!! He has been downstairs in the family room on the couch for a little over 2 weeks!!! WooHoo!!!

Jackson and his Friends

The Last Few Days

The last few days have been great! This weekend Randy was invited to go Phesant Hunting. Which the boys have never done before. Then we found out it was in Nephi at a Phesant Farm, so we felt a little better about it. Jackson would have felt bad with Tyson and Randy going and not him because of his broken ankle. So Randy made sure that it would be safe enough for him to go. They went with a guy Randy works with and then our good friends Ben Ludwig, and his boys Alex and Tyler. They had a great time. The boys loved shooting the clay pigeons! The boys didn't shoot a Phesant, but Randy did! They had fun just hanging out and bonding. So while they were hunting, Randy told me to make an appointment and get a massage and a facial. So I did! I couldn't pass that up. It was so nice, I loved it! Then after, I met Laurel (Ludwig) and her girls for an early dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, and then we walked around the mall for a while. We had a good time. Then the guys called and they wanted to eat the phesant that they had, so we went over to the Ludwig's for them to eat dinner. They all liked the phesant meat ok. I think they had more fun trying to shoot the phesant.
Today (Monday, November 17) we took Jackson back into the surgeon. He took his bandages off, and took the staples out. His foot was still swollen, but it looked really good, and the doctor was very pleased! He said Jackson must be doing everything he is suppose to be doing. They gave him a walking boot (but he can't walk on it yet) for him to keep his leg in, and to feel a little more stable. He still needs to be on crutches, and a wheel chair for school. He can go back to school on Monday!!!! He is really excited for that. He can't put any pressure at all on it yet. He does get to take the boot and the bandages off in a few days for a quick shower. He is excited for that too! He doesn't love the sponge baths from dad. So we go back to the doctor in 4 weeks. He is doing really well!!!

Jackson's Surgery

Jackson went in for surgery at 7:30 am, this morning. His surgery took about an hour and a half. His doctor and anesthesiologist both said his surgery went great! We got home about 1:00pm and he slept until about 8:00pm tonight. Now he has his pain pills in him, and he can't wait for his friends to get here! (He is a chatty kathy). I am so glad everything went well. I was pretty sad when they wheeled him off. Mainly because I was in a waiting area all alone. Randy had to go to a sales meeting, so he dropped us off and got us situated, and had to take off. (He felt really bad for leaving us) But there was nothing he could do there but wait. My mom and dad ran over and sat with me, so that made it easier. Then by the time Jackson got back to the room, Randy was there too. So far he is doing great! I am really proud of him!

Jackson's Surgery

Jackson goes in for surgery at 7:00am on Friday. We have to be there at 6:15am. He is being such a trooper! He really isn't complaining about his ankle at all (yet), he just really misses hanging out with his friends! Luckily tonight since the Utah vs. TCU game is on, his friends Andrew Kenney and Mark Brewster came over to watch it with him. He was really happy! Randy took Tyson and 2 of his friends, Chris Williams and Nick Giles to the game, since Jackson and I couldn't go.
I think I am getting the hang of blogging! I keep having to call Lisa Kenney and she reminds me what to do. But, I got 2 pictures posted!!!!

The End of October

Wow, I am really glad October is over! We had 4 parties in a row, the last 4 weekends. I happy to say they all turned out great! Our last party was on Halloween. It was a last minute party. But, Tyson's football team made it to the play offs, and it was kind of a big deal because their team hadn't even gone to the playoffs since they were 2nd year gremmies! So since they were about 9. So we decided to get them excited and celebrate going to the play offs! After practice the team and coaches came over to our house for pizza. Some of the kids decided to go trick or treating, so they just went around our neighborhood. It was really fun! Randy's friend Cecil, (Cottonwood High's football coach) brought some dvd's over for the boys to watch. They watched a Florida Gator pre season work out video and some Cottonwood High Highlights, which they all loved. So we all had a good time.
Unfortunately, we lost the game on Saturday, November 1st to Bingham 12-7. It was sad. But we still have our Banquet and that is always fun. Jackson's team was out the week before, they didn't make it to the playoffs.
So Friday night (Halloween), after the party and trick or treaters. Tyson went to bed and we were waiting for Jackson to come home from his friends house. We got a call from him about 11:30 pm, he told Randy he had wrecked on his scooter. So Randy dashed out the door to go get him. Well he wrecked right by Albion Middle School and there is usually a police officer sitting in the parking lot at night. And there was, and he went over to Jackson to see if he was ok, and then he found out Jackson was under age to be driving a scooter! So Jackson and Randy both got tickets. He even called an ambulance and then a fire truck came and everything. But, Randy decided to just drive Jackson to the ER himself. You know to save a couple thousand dollar Ambulance Ride! So we found out he had broke his ankle. So we took him to a Orthopedic Surgeon, on Monday and he needs to have surgery to put a plate in his ankle. So he gets to have surger on Friday the 7th of November. He will miss school for 3 weeks! He is not happy! Luckily he has good friends who have been coming to visit him. It is going to be a LONG 6 weeks!
Today (November 4th) is election day! So Randy and I went over this morning to vote. Who knows if our votes will even count, but at least they will locally! It is an interesting election. I really don't like either one of the candidates for president.

October 22, 2008

This has been a crazy month! I thought this was going to be so easy but, I just need to make more time. My friend Lisa Kenney has been helping me out with this, so I hope I payed attention!
Well this past weekend were 2 big games for our boys. Tyson's team had to win in order to make the play-offs. Jackson's team well, they pretty much needed a win too. They both played Riverton, which are pretty good teams. Tyson's team won, 19-0!!! Yeah! So they are in the play-offs for sure! They played really well! Jackson's team played great! They looked good! But, they lost 15-8. Jackson had a really good game! Also what made the game really good was Randy was able to make BOTH of the games! Which never happens, so we were all really excited! This week they play Bingham, another really hard team. Tyson's team is in the play-offs for sure, but Jackson's team needs a win to make the play-offs.
Then after the game Tyson had a few friends over to hang out, and Jackson went with a few of his friends to go see "THRILLER", it is a performance put on every October by Odyssey Dance Company, it is at Kingsbury Hall. They have a friend, Jayden who dances in it. But the four boys said they liked it. (I'm sure they did).
Sunday we had some people from Randy's work, and the neighborhood, and some friends over for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun. We had a good turn out too. This Sunday is my mom's side of the family, Fox Halloween party, at our house. It is always a good time!

Saturday

Thursday October 2 we were able to get tickets to the Utah VS. Oregon game. It was so much fun! It was such a big game for Utah, and they won! We had a great time.
Friday October 3 the boys both had football practice. Tyson's psych night was the marshmellow shooting guns. The boys always like that. Then after we went to the Brighton VS. Alta game. Alta has such a good team, and they are Brighton's big rival. Well, when we got there, it was still in the first quarter, and it was already 21-0 for Alta. So we knew it wasn't going to be pretty. The final score was 45-0. We had a good time though.
Today were both the boys' games. It was raining so hard all day, and suppose to rain tomorrow too. So it was really cold. Jackson's team won, 41-0, and Jackson got a fumble recovery, it was awsome! Tyson's team had a good game, but they lost 14-13. It came down to the last couple minutes. It was sad, but they played their hearts out. Tyson played great and he forced a fumble.
Tonight Tyson is having some boys from his team over. He didn't really have a birthday with friends, so this can count. They are having pizza, and treats. They are playing the Nintendo Wii and the XBox 360. They are funny, they sit and text their friends, and girls. I told Jackson that next week he can have a few friends over. Well its about 9:00pm and Randy said it was pretty dead so he should be getting home in the next little while. Also something pretty neat,my brother Gavin left today to go back to an NFL game, with some guys from his work. They are going to see his FAVORITE team The Green Bay Packers VS. The Atlanta Falcons. Gavin has been a faithful Green Bay fan through the good and the bad. We are really excited for him.
Well I am going to try to keep this up. I will eventually have pictures too. Hopefully sometime, I will have something else to talk about besides football. But, tis the season right now!

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Tyson wanted everybody to know that he got an Ipod for his birthday. He was so excited. So an Ipod plus football ALL weekend, what else could he ask for.
Also today is my Grandma and Grandpa Erickson's 69th wedding anniversary!!! 69 years, that is amazing to me! My Grandma is 88 and my Grandpa is 90, and both are still doing pretty good!
Well, I am still trying to figure this out. We had a great weekend! Randy took Saturday off, so it was fun hanging out with him. It was also Tyson's 13th birthday! So after the boys' practice on Friday, we went to the Brighton High School game. They played Taylorsville and beat them 41-0. FINALLY Brighton won! It was great. Randy brought home one of his boss's big nice trucks (big like a mack semi) for Ty's birthday. Tyson loves that truck, so we took that to the high school game! The boys' each brought some friends, so it was fun.
Saturday Jackson's team lost 35-0, it wasn't fun. Then Tyson's team lost 27-0. They both played Alta, their big rival, so we weren't happy. Its ok though, we play Woods Cross next week, so we need to make a come back.
After the boys' games, we rushed off to the Utah Utes game! They were playing Weber State. The Utes won 37-21! So that was really fun. Before the game we got to Tail Gate at the Call radio tent. Our good friend Chris Willmore works with Call radio, and she let us in. We had free drinks and dinner. Wingers catered it, so it was really good. Then we just walked over to the game.
On Sunday for Tyson's birthday we went to Bonsai. That is always good. Max and Jane went too. This time Jane liked the fire but Max didn't. Max sort of warmed up to it by the end. Then we came back to our house for ice cream and cake. I think he had a pretty good birthday. It was really fun having Randy be with us all weekend!
Hopefully I will figure out how to post pictures soon!

This is new for me, but I thought it would be a good way to keep everybody up to date on what is going on with our family.
Jackson is in 9th grade and it is his last year at Albion Middle School. Tyson is in 7th grade and it is his first year at Albion Middle School. They both are taking pretty hard classes, and are both doing really well.
Football is going great for both boys. Tyson's team is undefeated and Jackson's team has lost only one game. Next week the 27th is a big game against our rival, Alta. Randy even took that day off. Plus it is Tyson's 13th birthday. So it will be fun!
I hope this ends up being a good idea, with this blog. I think it will be fun. Especially when I figure out what I am doing!
