Jackson and his Friends

The Last Few Days

The last few days have been great! This weekend Randy was invited to go Phesant Hunting. Which the boys have never done before. Then we found out it was in Nephi at a Phesant Farm, so we felt a little better about it. Jackson would have felt bad with Tyson and Randy going and not him because of his broken ankle. So Randy made sure that it would be safe enough for him to go. They went with a guy Randy works with and then our good friends Ben Ludwig, and his boys Alex and Tyler. They had a great time. The boys loved shooting the clay pigeons! The boys didn't shoot a Phesant, but Randy did! They had fun just hanging out and bonding. So while they were hunting, Randy told me to make an appointment and get a massage and a facial. So I did! I couldn't pass that up. It was so nice, I loved it! Then after, I met Laurel (Ludwig) and her girls for an early dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, and then we walked around the mall for a while. We had a good time. Then the guys called and they wanted to eat the phesant that they had, so we went over to the Ludwig's for them to eat dinner. They all liked the phesant meat ok. I think they had more fun trying to shoot the phesant.
Today (Monday, November 17) we took Jackson back into the surgeon. He took his bandages off, and took the staples out. His foot was still swollen, but it looked really good, and the doctor was very pleased! He said Jackson must be doing everything he is suppose to be doing. They gave him a walking boot (but he can't walk on it yet) for him to keep his leg in, and to feel a little more stable. He still needs to be on crutches, and a wheel chair for school. He can go back to school on Monday!!!! He is really excited for that. He can't put any pressure at all on it yet. He does get to take the boot and the bandages off in a few days for a quick shower. He is excited for that too! He doesn't love the sponge baths from dad. So we go back to the doctor in 4 weeks. He is doing really well!!!

Jackson's Surgery

Jackson went in for surgery at 7:30 am, this morning. His surgery took about an hour and a half. His doctor and anesthesiologist both said his surgery went great! We got home about 1:00pm and he slept until about 8:00pm tonight. Now he has his pain pills in him, and he can't wait for his friends to get here! (He is a chatty kathy). I am so glad everything went well. I was pretty sad when they wheeled him off. Mainly because I was in a waiting area all alone. Randy had to go to a sales meeting, so he dropped us off and got us situated, and had to take off. (He felt really bad for leaving us) But there was nothing he could do there but wait. My mom and dad ran over and sat with me, so that made it easier. Then by the time Jackson got back to the room, Randy was there too. So far he is doing great! I am really proud of him!

Jackson's Surgery

Jackson goes in for surgery at 7:00am on Friday. We have to be there at 6:15am. He is being such a trooper! He really isn't complaining about his ankle at all (yet), he just really misses hanging out with his friends! Luckily tonight since the Utah vs. TCU game is on, his friends Andrew Kenney and Mark Brewster came over to watch it with him. He was really happy! Randy took Tyson and 2 of his friends, Chris Williams and Nick Giles to the game, since Jackson and I couldn't go.
I think I am getting the hang of blogging! I keep having to call Lisa Kenney and she reminds me what to do. But, I got 2 pictures posted!!!!

The End of October

Wow, I am really glad October is over! We had 4 parties in a row, the last 4 weekends. I happy to say they all turned out great! Our last party was on Halloween. It was a last minute party. But, Tyson's football team made it to the play offs, and it was kind of a big deal because their team hadn't even gone to the playoffs since they were 2nd year gremmies! So since they were about 9. So we decided to get them excited and celebrate going to the play offs! After practice the team and coaches came over to our house for pizza. Some of the kids decided to go trick or treating, so they just went around our neighborhood. It was really fun! Randy's friend Cecil, (Cottonwood High's football coach) brought some dvd's over for the boys to watch. They watched a Florida Gator pre season work out video and some Cottonwood High Highlights, which they all loved. So we all had a good time.
Unfortunately, we lost the game on Saturday, November 1st to Bingham 12-7. It was sad. But we still have our Banquet and that is always fun. Jackson's team was out the week before, they didn't make it to the playoffs.
So Friday night (Halloween), after the party and trick or treaters. Tyson went to bed and we were waiting for Jackson to come home from his friends house. We got a call from him about 11:30 pm, he told Randy he had wrecked on his scooter. So Randy dashed out the door to go get him. Well he wrecked right by Albion Middle School and there is usually a police officer sitting in the parking lot at night. And there was, and he went over to Jackson to see if he was ok, and then he found out Jackson was under age to be driving a scooter! So Jackson and Randy both got tickets. He even called an ambulance and then a fire truck came and everything. But, Randy decided to just drive Jackson to the ER himself. You know to save a couple thousand dollar Ambulance Ride! So we found out he had broke his ankle. So we took him to a Orthopedic Surgeon, on Monday and he needs to have surgery to put a plate in his ankle. So he gets to have surger on Friday the 7th of November. He will miss school for 3 weeks! He is not happy! Luckily he has good friends who have been coming to visit him. It is going to be a LONG 6 weeks!
Today (November 4th) is election day! So Randy and I went over this morning to vote. Who knows if our votes will even count, but at least they will locally! It is an interesting election. I really don't like either one of the candidates for president.
